I have been thinking, this week, of the disciples — and how often Jesus had to slow down for them. Not because He was impatient, but because they were so unprepared for who He turned out to be.
Lent is a kindness like that. A slowing. A re-reading. A quiet pause before the loudness of resurrection.
If your Lent has been a little rough — uneven, distractible, sleepy — you are in good company. The disciples could not stay awake either. And He loved them all the way through it.
